Del Mar Beach — Powerhouse Park and Seagrove Park in Del Mar are ideal Easter afternoon spots: beautiful, low-key, and without the holiday crowds of beaches further south.
Fletcher Cove — Solana Beach — One of North County’s most beloved beach access points in Solana Beach, with easy parking and calm April conditions that are perfect for families.
A Few Practical Notes
Brunch reservations are essential. Many top spots booked up weeks ago, but it’s worth calling directly — spots occasionally open the day before major holidays. Most venues recommend reserving via OpenTable.
Beach and park parking fills quickly on Easter Sunday. At Coronado, take the ferry from downtown rather than driving. At Torrey Pines, arrive before 9 a.m. At the Encinitas Community Park hunt on Saturday, auxiliary parking is available at San Dieguito Academy High School with a free shuttle.
Weather forecast for Easter weekend: mid-60s and sunny across San Diego County — as close to perfect as it gets.
