Rancho Santa Fe Organizations Collaborate to Hold “Spring Cleaning” Sale

On May 2nd, the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club, RSF Country Friends and The RSF Book Cellar are working together to put on a “spring cleaning” sale, an attempt to give the community reasons to give back.

This is not the first time that such organizations have put on an event to benefit the Rancho Santa Fe community. Since the Garden Club began operating in 1926, it has become a nonprofit California corporation, whose purposes have expanded to include, “beautification, horticulture, philanthropy, education, culture, and civic activities.”

The Petals for Patriots program, for example, was initiated in the spring of 2008. Last year, the Garden Club made a delivery in April, cheering up wounded warriors at the Balboa Naval Hospital with flower bouquets and baskets of fresh fruit.

The Country Friends regularly hosts events with an emphasis on providing services to women, children, the elderly and persons with disabilities within San Diego County. Past events have included dinners and art shows.

The RSF Book Cellar is a gently used bookstore located below the Rancho Santa Fe library. Many of the books donated to the RSF Book Cellar are then distributed to a variety of philanthropies, including Father Joe’s Villages and Juvenile Hall Teen Book Clubs.

On May 2nd, from 10 AM to 4 PM, these organizations will be making room for new donation and consignment items by having a spring sale where shoppers can find great deals. Where at the Book Cellar one can find a large variety of books at unbelievable prices, the Country Friends consignment shop is filled with silver, crystal, china, as well as upscale furnishings. Lastly, the Garden Club’s Upscale Resale shop offers gently used designer clothing, household items, furniture, tools, art and music.

All three shops are located conveniently in the Rancho Santa Fe Village between La Granada and El Tordo within walking distance from each other.

You can be a part of the difference in giving back to Rancho Santa Fe and San Diego when you donate, consign, or shop at The RSF Book Cellar, The Country Friends Consignment Store, and the RSF Garden Club’s Resale Shoppe.

Make sure to come out to the sale for some great steals!
