Rancho Santa Fe Morgan Club Hosts FSWO Pro Tennis Tournament

Morgan Run Club and Resort in Rancho Santa Fe will see the return of the Fresh Start Women’s Open tournament from Feb. 22 – March 1 this year. The tournament is the only women’s professional tennis event that will be played in Southern California this year, and the prize is $25,000.The Fresh Start Women’s Open will celebrate its 5th anniversary the week of the tournament, with qualifying matches on Sunday and Monday, and matches beginning on Tuesday. It will end with singles semifinals and the doubles final on Saturday, which is known as “Super Saturday,” and the crowning of the singles champion on Sunday.

In addition to being a great way to support athletics and tennis, the tournament also benefits Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, a Carlsbad-based organization that helps infants, kids and teens with physical deformities obtain reconstructive surgery and other health care services.

There are many other events throughout the tournament week that allow participants to give back to the community; some of which include a Pro-Am, a Sponsor Reception, and Kid’s Day events. More than 100 women participate in the tournament, giving these events the potential to have an even larger impact on the community.

With a long history of tennis involvement, Rancho Santa Fe is proud to host the professional tournament, and is the only town in Southern California that will host such a professional tennis event this year.

The event is symbolic of Rancho Santa Fe’s incredible sense of community and charity, as well as its commitment to athletics and health and well being.

With the list of tennis stars that got their start here, the excellent school district, and the many other positive events that take place in the community, it’s not hard to see why Rancho Santa Fe is such a great place to settle down and raise a family.
