For many years, Rancho Santa Fe has served its residents with first-class facilities, accessible resources, and opportunities to engage in a variety of hobbies and activities. Rancho Santa Fe Estate & Fine Jewelry is just one example of a business that has not only catered to those interested in buying and collecting jewelry, but has also made efforts to give back to the community through charitable organizations.

Owned by Coleen Freeman, the business specializes in a variety of services, including expert cleaning, re-sizing, jewelry and watch repair, custom jewelry design, pearl re-stringing, appraisal, and acquisition or consignment of gold pieces, diamonds, estate, antique, designer/gemstone jewelry and watches.

This month, Rancho Santa Fe Jewelry is hosting a family and pet-friendly Holiday Open House Celebration at their local store, located at 6024 Paseo Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe.

A portion of the sales made will be donated to Shelter to Soldier

Shelter to Soldier is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to be psychiatric service companions for wounded combat veterans. The organization focuses on providing services to those affected by post-traumatic stress disorder, reflecting research that has suggested that dogs help fight depression, lower blood pressure, and improve physiological stability.

The organization is founded and led by Graham Bloem, who has had a lifetime passion for helping both people and animals..

All guests who attend the event or who preview items that night and return to buy items by the 31st of December will contribute to the donation back to charity.

The event will include holiday entertainment by musician Ean Corbett, appetizers from Rancho Santa Fe Bistro, holiday cookies by Claire’s on Cedros Bakery and Cafe, hosted beverages, and an opportunity drawing.

Opportunity drawing items include an Anna Beck gold cuff from Rancho Santa Fe Estate and Fine Jewelry, a silk scarf from the White Rainbow Collection, a turtle sculpture from Rock-n-Rusties, and a gift basket from Beautiful You Skin and Body Rejuvenation.

According to owner Coleen Freeman, “We’re pleased to host this event celebrating over 30 years of operation in Rancho Santa Fe and honored to donate back a portion of proceeds to Shelter to Soldier. Our philanthropic component to benefit veterans will be extended throughout the holiday shopping season for those who visit our open house. In the spirit of giving during the holidays, we hope to make a difference.”

This has not been the first time that Coleen has hosted a philanthropy event through her business. In 2012, she hosted an Open House for which a portion of the proceeds were donated to the non-profit organization, Friends of San Pasqual Academy. Friends of San Pasqual Academy assists foster teens of San Diego County in their endeavor to become confident, productive, educated, successful adults.

In response to the event, Coleen said, “…it was such a gratifying experience that we decided to extend our philanthropic component throughout the holiday shopping season. Our contribution will help support San Pasqual Academy and their dedicated staff provide a safe, stable academic environment for deserving foster teens. In the spirit of giving during the holidays, we hope to make a difference.”
