What do you love about your home?
Two features that were really important to our family were living in an uplifting home filled with natural light and being able to stable horses on our property with convenient access to riding trails. Rim Rock checked off both boxes for us! We remodeled the spacious kitchen with a modern feel and love the flow to the family room and outdoor entertaining pavilion. Time with friends and family typically transitions into the beautifully landscaped yard and oversized pool which we find ourselves using frequently. The combination of the two spaces has proven ideal for entertaining and we don’t hear any complaints about the relaxing view, tranquil breezes, southwest orientation or beautiful sunsets. The business we run is fulfilling yet very demanding and the combination of the benefits offered at the home offer a wonderful and creative environment when we work from home. One additional luxury Rim Rock provides is “space”. The home is set back away from nearby properties but still close enough to offer a sense of community.
What do you like about the neighborhood?
Many components are fulfilling to us. People are friendly! When we are out walking our dogs we see lots of runner, walkers, horse riders, and families. Drivers are courteous to people, horses, and pets! The area is well maintained and safe. We also appreciate the easy access to I-5 and beaches. Both can be accessed in about 10 minutes.
What are your favorite local activities, events, or attractions?
We love horse riding on the trails! Olivenhain has many artisan festivals throughout the year, from Beerfest, Summerfayres and Christmas Caroling on horseback at the Olivenhain Meeting hall. If you haven’t tried them, you should!
Tell me about your preferred local restaurants and shopping options?
Quick and easy shopping and restaurants are a mere jaunt away. El Camino Real had everything we needed (Trader Joe’s, Target, Home Depot, and the Carlsbad Forum Shops). There are an abundance of dining options ranging from organic specialty café’s like Naked Café to quick lunch spots like Wahoo’s Fish Taco and hearty dinner steak at Bentley’s. Our preferred Beach strand is Encinitas where we love shopping at Whole Foods and dining at 3rd Corner or catching a game at Shelter. We also really enjoy Rancho Santa Fe—especially the cappuccinos at Thyme and the Burgers at Delicias.
